People,
I must seriously question intentions and beliefs here. It is not too often that I would openly defend people that I disagree with, but this case is one of them. We as a people must concern ourselves with the issues and not with the distorted issues. I do not have a problem with people posting their personal opinions, but let us keep in mind the point is to come together as one unified front in the pursuit of eliminating corruption in politics.
Whether Ron Angle Jr is guilty in a court of law for the allegations against him, they still have no place in how Ron Angle the County Councilman conducts his politics. I find it very hard to grasp the concept of him going to Sears in P'burg and scheming against Northampton County residents. This just seems farfetched.
That brings me to my next point. We can't accomplish anything from a far right or far left agenda. We need to be centrists who believe in a common cause. I do not believe that politician’s families are legitimate places to attack. I believe that most politicians have enough to be attacked on without involving their family in it. His son does not create the issues that all of you are passionately concerned with, so why do we attack him for hatred over his father’s tactics.
If we are going to engage one another, I would hope that we would do so to inform the people on what really matters, and not on whatever easy moment we can distort to your favor. This will only create a situation of fun and entertainment for a short while, and after it goes away, the problems will still be here. The same issues that were ignored for fun and humor will be present without any solutions to them. So in the end, what is actually accomplished by subjecting a politician’s family to this treatment? In my humble opinion, nothing.
Please don't think that Mr. O'Hare hacked into my computer and wrote this, because that is not the truth. I say what I believe, and all of you are welcome to do the same. Even though we might not agree, we still need to communicate with each other.
Sincerely,
Silence Dogood
We at SPG agree with most of the points made in this posting. We continually say that we should not stoop to the other side’s level, which in most cases is really low. However, it is important in the case of RAJ, that we understand what RAS and BO are trying to do, once again distort the truth, which is something they seem to always do by shining a light on something else that has nothing to do with the issue at hand.
ReplyDeleteFor example: in the case of RAJ, he got caught, so what...and that is true, so what! Until RAS says, hey, foul, the cashier did not do his/her job. He tries to take the focus off the fact that his son, who learned from him, has in fact committed a criminal act. How does Ron sr, or jr know if the cashier has instructions to keep the line moving since SEARS has an eagle eye, and the eagle eye doesn't have a crime unless the criminal exits the store.
The point here is not to attack the child of an honest elected official who's child has simply made an honest mistake, but to expose how quickly a crooked politico like RAS tries to defend the criminal act committed by his less than honest child.
We see this as a sad situation, but because their first instinct is to deceive, ours has to be to expose.

HEY NORCO - MAKE SURE WE DONT ELECT THE YOUNG CROOK DOWN THE LINE
ReplyDeleteWait, mentioning Ron Angle's Adult Son is unfair? Look at Bernie's blog. How many of those children photos he on his blog are used without parental permission?
ReplyDeleteMentioning the Ron Angle's son in and of itself is fine. How it is portrayed is a different story. When people make the comparison that Ron Angle Sr's politics are controlled or have anything to do with his sons behavior is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI always tell people that when you compare something negative against something else that is equally negative, you will feel good about yourself. I do not compare this blog with that of other blogs. If my blog can't stand on it's own merits, then my blog should not be here. We can't continue to compare ourselves with a lesser person or situation if that is what you believe, but rather we should compare ourselves with the ideals that we hold within us. Don't let what other people do interfere with this.
If other bloggers want to use manipulation, fiction and scare tactics to change your mind, then you don't belong here. I only ask that those who are strong enough to support themselves on their beliefs alone read from this blog. You surround yourself with the people that make you feel most comfortable. You learn from those who make you feel uncomfortable.
Do not let the ways of one person detour you from the path that is evident to all of us. That path is the one which will be filled with integrity, truth, passion, selflessness and the true desire to do something for the common good of your fellow man or woman.
When you think about a potential candidate, shouldn't you take into account the entire person? Let us harken back to 60 days ago. The television and print ads with the candidates standing proudly with their families, in an effort to show a grounded family man or woman, a Norman Rockwell image. Now we speak of the RAJ situation not affecting NORCO. I ask, will RAS send me one of those Norman Rockwell portraits showing his happy family in an effort to garner my support. I won't hold my breath. RAS had been accused of the same crimes. RAS has had many run ins with the law. He would like for us to overlook those run ins, and portrays them as a left wing vendetta against him. Nothing could be further from the truth. These people have lived outside the law and should not be rewarded with positions of authority. Ask yourself these questions; would you leave your wallet or purse unattended with either of those two in the room? Why then do we have the fox guarding OUR henhouse? And finally as argued so eloquently by the disbarred lawyer "it is only a summary offense". That is why there is the 3 strikes law in effect. To get career criminals behind bars, where they belong.
ReplyDeleteMr. Smith,
ReplyDeleteYour point is very well taken. I must commend you on the way in which you wrote your response.
I believe this falls under the most recent posting I have. Families are far too often utilized for gain on both sides. Your point about the Norman Rockwell image was well received. I want to ask you two questions. Do you know if the son was willing to participate in the picture or was forced to? If this was your son, would he get the same publicity as Ron Angle Jr. did?
The only reason I ask you these questions, is because I don't want to see a politicians mistakes become the burden of their family. I would hate to see this kid be the target of rivals to Angle based solely on the fact that he is the offspring of Angle himself.
With that all being said, I must also declare the fact that Angle Sr. was absolutely out of line by blaming the cashier. She did not place the item in the toolbox. If that is the case, then we must consider investigating the stockboy because maybe he placed the item in the toolbox.
My point on both sides, is to hold Angle Sr. accountable for his actions and not his sons, and do not hold Angle Jr. accountable for his fathers actions. Let both individuals stand on their own merits and not each others.
Share your feelings on this matter as you have, reach out to the other people in this county, but do so on fact. You have stated several facts in your response, and I do appreciate that. I just don't want to confuse the issues at hand, but your point is well taken.
